Why is Asr particularly emphasized in the Qur'an?
Surah Al-Baqarah 2:238 says: "Guard strictly your prayers, especially the middle prayer." Many scholars identify this verse as referring to Asr, which falls in the middle of the working day when distractions are highest and missing the prayer is easiest.
How does today's Asr time in El Oued compare to the same date last year?
On this same date one year ago, Asr in El Oued was at 15:42 local time — identical to today's 15:42. Year-over-year drift is sometimes zero when the leap-year alignment cancels out the typical solar shift.

What direction is the Qibla from El Oued for Asr?

What is the spiritual significance of Asr?
Guard strictly your prayers, especially the Middle Prayer (Asr). (Quran 2:238)
Can I delay Asr to combine with Maghrib?
No. Asr and Maghrib are not among the prayers classical jurisprudence allows to be combined. Dhuhr/Asr and Maghrib/Isha can be combined under specific conditions, but Asr must always be completed before sunset.
