Isha Prayer in Zarqa — Frequently Asked Questions

Answers refreshed daily based on today's actual Isha time, sunrise, sunset, and Hijri date in Zarqa.

What time is Isha today in Zarqa?
Isha in Zarqa, Jordan begins today (Thursday, October 01, 2026) at 19:51 local time (Asia/Amman), once the red twilight on the western horizon has fully faded. The Isha window extends until midnight Islamic time (half-way between sunset and Fajr); tomorrow Fajr begins at 19:50.
What is the latest time to pray Isha?
Three positions exist: (a) preferred time ends at Islamic midnight (half-way between Maghrib and Fajr); (b) permissible time ends at true Fajr; (c) the Prophet ﷺ disliked delaying Isha excessively. Praying within the first third of the night is the most recommended practice.
What is Witr and when is it prayed in relation to Isha?
Witr is an odd-numbered (1, 3, 5, 7, or 9) prayer offered AFTER Isha and before Fajr. Most Muslims pray it immediately after Isha; those who wake for Tahajjud may delay it to the last part of the night. The Prophet ﷺ called it 'the prayer of witr' and never abandoned it.
What is Tahajjud and when does it begin?
Tahajjud is voluntary night prayer offered after sleeping, typically in the last third of the night — the most virtuous time being from roughly midnight to just before Fajr at 19:50. The Qur'an describes Tahajjud worshippers as "those who sleep a small portion of the night" (Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:17).
How does today's Isha time in Zarqa compare to the same date last year?
On this same date one year ago, Isha in Zarqa was at 19:51 local time — identical to today's 19:51. Year-over-year drift is sometimes zero when the leap-year alignment cancels out the typical solar shift.
How many rakat is Isha prayer?
Isha prayer consists of 4 Fard, 2 Sunnah, 3 Witr (9 rakat in total). This breakdown follows the standard Sunni convention as taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
What direction is the Qibla from Zarqa for Isha?
From Zarqa, the Qibla bearing toward the Kaaba in Mecca is approximately 162° measured clockwise from true north. The same direction applies to every prayer of the day — only the time of Isha changes daily.
What is the spiritual significance of Isha?
Isha in congregation is like praying half the night. (Muslim)
Why is praying Isha in congregation specifically emphasized?
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "Whoever prays Isha in congregation, it is as if he has prayed half the night, and whoever prays Fajr in congregation is as if he has prayed the whole night" (Muslim). The two ends of the day — Isha and Fajr — carry the heaviest reward.
